Hi!!  Wow that is amazing news!! We are all so excited for you!!  So much to plan now.  Cant wait to see the photos!!
Kody is home today.  Last week he managed to break a toe so is hobbling around on crutches for a few days.  Pretty impressive bruising too. He did it on Wednesday last week but I never got him to the doctors till Thursday...because I didnt really believe him!!!  whoops by the time we got him to the doctors his little toe was poking out on a very odd angle!!  But on the mend now.  Boys and crutches are a funny mix both Kody Ben and their Poppa have used them as pretend guns.  Kody has made good use of everyone waiting on him.
A couple of weeks ago the DPS had their Book Week.  It went off with a bang. They had parent day, Grandparent day and guest reader day ( I dressed up as a very scary ugly Bad Jelly the Witch and had loads of fun scaring a few classes!!) Then on the final day the entire school dressed up as book characters it was fabulous.  All the office girls and Mr Russek and Whaea Danielle dressed up as "Robin Hood"  It was very funny they staged a robbery of Miss Ellis's golden jewels.  All the classes had to parade in front of the rest of the school.  Miss McGlassins class did a fantastic "  Rugby World Cup opening ceremony" other classes shuffled, boogied and jived.  The Kindy and Family link all joined in.  Kody went as Sonny Bill Williams and Ben as Dan Carter.  I argued that they were Rugby players and not book characters but lost.  So I gave them Black hair and painted up some All Black shirts.  Im sure there will be photos in the paper this week.
So happy planning and packing!!  Miss you all lots
Love from the Johnstons

Hey Rory, if Mum gets a chance this week, thru friends of mine I heard of a set of Tibetan monks creating a sand mandala in ingelwood this week. It is an amazing process to witness and they do it to promote peace and I'm sure you and mum would like to see it being created. Its at the Forrestal lodge, 23 Rimu St. It started ovr the weekend and will be finished on friday i think. cheers Julie.

Hiya Leigh,  Mum snipped out the the article from the paper and sent it up to me about Rory going to Disneyland!!  What an amazing trip, the whole family is going to have so much fun.     I was also very glad to read that Rory is still in remission, what an incredible boy you have there, he is a fighter.   I imagine he gets that spirit from his parents.   The journey that you guys have been through moved me to tears, this trip could not have come at a better time.   Looking forward to seeing all the photo's on the blog when you get back.
All the best with the fundraising, I have donated on behalf of the 'Sleeps'.   Hopefully might see you at Christmas?
Love, Merril and Gavin and Dahlia Campbell

I just came across this through Facebook as my friend was sharing about Rory and how it was a struggle to raise the money for your trip to Disney land.
I was reading Rory's life story, and wow, what an amazing kid! I went to inglewood primary myself, but ended in 2008 and I didn't get the chance to meet Rory, but by what I have read, he is such an amazing kid! Already an inspiration and I've only read about him on the Internet.
He is also very lucky to have such supportive parents, by what I have read, you guys are so lovely and what to give Rory the very best.
This must be a struggle each and everyday, but to see how strong Rory is and to know that he is your child, must be such a pleasure.
I myself have always wanted to meet someone with cancer because I think they are such an inspiration! I mean, they go through so much - as u would well know, and they fight through everyday, and that's just amazing, I take my hat off to them!

Keep up the good work, you're doing a GREAT job!!!

Leigh sometimes all you can do and need to do is 'just breath'. You are truly amazing and have been an inspiration to many. Your boys are very blessed to have you as their mum and wife.
We have another bag to collect when you are next passing,
Love to you all from the team at Hell New Plymouth.
