Tangowahine tales
Hi guys. What beautiful weather, well the sunniness of it but not the frosts. At least it is the weekend and some of us have been able to lie in bed in the warmth under the duvet, with the sun streaming in the window, and the lambs outside carrying on!!! David gave the worker the weekend off and the backing gate doesn't work when there is a heavy frost so he had to go out and get the cows into the rows on his own which made milking longer. Yesterday the lambs managed to get out of their enclosure, again, but this time the boys were also out and spent time cuddling them and brushing them and running up and down the driveway racing the lambs. It was so funny to watch these little lambs following the boys around, I think the boys thought it was cool too. I now fully understand "Mary Had a Little Lamb"!! We are off to the Wave pool today as a reward for the boys doing swimming lessons and for fathers day, David is coming too which will be awesome. He wants to leave in 45 mins but none of us have had breakfast or are dressed, that is Sunday morning for ya! Hope things aren't too bad down there and the Chemo drug bit has finished. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and warm fuzzies. The Crawfords

Ahoy Matey!!  So happy to hear you can be discharged tomorrow to RMcD House!!! Be nice to have a change of scenery.  All of your beads of courage will give you a sore neck!! You can wear them like a medal or if they are too heavy hold them like a trophy!
Today Kody Ben and Stella went to Nanas for the day Teachers only day but I worked)  Nana lives out beside the Tangowahine School (where Reuben and Ethan go) and today a Helicopter arrived at the school! Kody Ben and Nana were very excited Stella on the other hand was very frightened. They were bursting at the seams to tell me all about it.  They always enjoy it out there.  They have room to run, Mud to play in, metal to do skids on bikes and concrete, trees to climb and a donkey to feed (called Jacob) along with a very grumpy cat named Tigerlily (she growls snarls and hisses at you whenever you go near her!)  The neighbours have Alpaccas and sheep (with Lambs!)Nana and Poppa also have a small dam out front in Jacobs paddock with some ducks! Once the boys caught an eel in the dam!
After I picked them all up we went Fathers Day shopping, Brian needed some socks and they also decided he needed a new CD Ben took my advice and picked "While my guitar gently weeps" and Kody picked "The Black Eyed Peas"....somehow I think Kodys choice was more for his benefit than Dads!  Well I hope you have a good nights sleep (you too Mum!) and spoil Dad on Sunday!  Take care, sending healing vibes and lots of love from your friends the Johnstons xxxxx (Including Trudi the next NZ Movie Star!!!!)

Hi Rory, Hope you are feeling better today. I just wanted to let you know that I won the cross country for you yesterday, and when I go to Arapohue next week I will try hard for you too. Cant wait until you are well enough to come back to school. Your desk is by me now. Take care, & be strong. Patrick

Bummer for Sam that the cross country didn't go as he had planned - he could do with some good vibes i am sure... Eila runs in the interschools cross country tomorrow...we are proud she is able to participate but if the giggliing and daisy picking she and her friend did on the walk around the course are anything to go by we won't be expecting a podium finish!

I can't imagine what it is like to see Rory looking weak and drained like that - holding the image of him as healthy and strong must be difficult... these peaks and troughs are unimaginable to those of us not living it but we send you love and strength to keep afloat...

you are never far from my thoughts Leigh...

Dear Leigh, well no doubt you didn't get much sleep last night. I hope that the day dawns bright and cheery to help things along. Nearly half way through the chemo, that must just about be 3/4 of the way through this whole process, the end is near. I can't find the right words of encouragement at the mo, but I am thinking of you and sending you positive vibes, strength and warm fuzzies. My goodness Leigh.? Everyday must be like a roller coaster of emotions.??Being a part of?DPS Children and Parents on such a happy high with not a care in the world, (well poor Sams kidney was a bit of a worry) in the morning, to your reality.? It hurts to know you all have to endure this unfair roller coaster everyday!?
To take your mind off things for a while (Sam might mention this too) not many people could hear the prizegiving today, Stella had finally had enough and let everybody know! Kody and Ben were very happy afterards going to show Nana Bens certificate (proud as punch he was) and stories of the days events.? While in Nanas shop they met up with Patrick (his Mum works up in the arcade as well) and Ethan (who was having a hair cut) and then the noise started! In the Arcade noise echos all around and boys LOVE that!??They ended up getting a telling off from me after one of the Beauty Therapists had to come out and ask for quiet!!!! Someone had paid good money for a relaxing treatment which was being drowned out with boys noises!!!!!!!!!...It was time to head home.? We were all pretty burnt out.?
I hope you have a better night and day tomorrow.? And remember not too far away you can say 2 down 2 to go!!!! Halfway whoop whoop chickkawow wow! or something like that.
Lots of positive vibes, healing thoughts and maybe a great transfusion tomorrow!! (never thought I would say that!) Love The Johnstons xxxxx
