Journey

Sean returned home this afternoon following a short trip with Rory and Colt to see Grannie and Grandad Gardiner.  They all enjoyed quality time together.  As both sets of Grandparents get older it is harder for them on their own to manage Rory as an adult with impairments.  After 25 years as partner and mother I happily settle into time alone.  I organise my life to suit me and no-one else.  I’ve discovered I have a great capacity for doing the things I love by myself.  Although it is nice to see Sean and the boys I have not been lonely. 

It has been a quiet fortnight.  Rory had a viral illness and felt sick for two days so needed stress-dose hydrocortisone.  I was the only one who caught it and felt unwell for longer.  It felt like covid but both of us tested negative.
