Winter time

Mokau to Awakino Overlander Rory double June 2025

Time passes by, almost on repeat, during winter in Taranaki.  There are less daylight hours and the weather is very changeable and volatile.  It makes it challenging to do anything new, especially outdoors, with Rory.  Rory has started Pilates https://www.facebook.com/pilatesforliving/  twice a week to try and improve his posture, flexibility and balance to support his independence.  He has been to Mihi’s Place for a massage and had a blood test prior to his 4-monthly Reandon (testosterone) injection.  We wished cousin Corbyn a Happy 21st Birthday and shared a family dinner with Nana so we could all be together on the one year anniversary of the passing of Poppa Honnor.  When the sun has appeared we have taken Rory out on the Overlander; around the 8km Kurapete Walkway in Inglewood, along the Coastal walkway in New Plymouth and traversing the beach from Mokau to Awakino at low tide in North Taranaki.  Rory gave Sean and I a ‘double’ across the streams which exit at the beach to keep our feet dry.
